The transformation agenda
The Ministry's vision, mission and five strategic goals
The Ministry aims to lead and model educational change, grounded in world-class standards. Five strategic goals guide the transformation.
The five strategic goals
- Goal 1: raise student achievement by restructuring traditional structures and processes. Examples include school structures, curricula, assessment, and better support services.
- Goal 2: professionalise teachers and leaders through best-practice standards and stronger oversight. Modernise training, certification and performance management, and give them the skills and resources they need.
- Goal 3: replace, restore and modernise physical and technology infrastructure, and improve access to digital systems, resources and training.
- Goal 4: modernise the Ministry’s own governance, structures, relationships, processes and administration.
- Goal 5: reform outdated education laws and regulations that block change.
